AitJaz – not just dictation

The same Windows program records meetings, transcribes videos and inserts ready-made phrases. Each feature opens on its own.

Dictate in 18 languages

Download AitJaz and time how long you spend typing

First type the text, then dictate it. The stopwatch compares the two.

Good afternoon, Daniel. I'm confirming our meeting on Thursday at 11:00 in our office. Please bring the contract and the reconciliation statement for the third quarter. If plans change, let me know in advance and we'll move it to Friday.

The stopwatch stops when you’ve typed the text up to the final period.

Your voice stays on your computer.

By default, AitJaz recognizes speech right on your PC, so client names, medical notes and contracts never leave it. Cloud recognition with your own API key is optional and stays off unless you turn it on.

  • No cloud processing unless you turn it on, dictation audio is never stored
  • No account to create
  • Works on a plane, on the road, behind a corporate firewall

Audio and video to text, too.

Turn a meeting recording, interview or lecture into a Word document with paragraphs, timestamps and a label for each speaker. By default it runs on your PC, and recordings can be any length.

  • No recording? Choose “Meeting” in settings once, then press Ctrl+Shift+X during a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet call: AitJaz records your voice and the other participants and gives you the text, split by speaker, after the call
  • Audio and video: mp3, m4a, wav, ogg, mp4, mov and more
  • Save as Word, plain text or .srt subtitles
  • Lines labeled “Speaker 1”, “Speaker 2”; add real names afterwards

Sure. I suggest moving the launch to next week.

AitJaz

AitJaz is made by a team in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. The founder is Nurbek Rakhmetov. The name comes from the Kazakh “Aıt, jaz”, meaning “say, write”.

Questions.

Which languages are supported?

English and 13 more languages (Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Hindi and others) run on a universal multilingual speech recognition model, which works best in English. AitJaz tests your PC and picks the most accurate model it can run quickly. For Russian, AitJaz uses a dedicated Russian model; Kazakh, Uzbek and Kyrgyz use a fast model made specifically for these languages. That makes 18 languages for speech. The app's own windows and menus come in 15 languages: English, Russian, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Hindi. AitJaz picks the interface language from your Windows settings, and you can switch it in Settings from the language list with the 🌐 icon under the logo. Try it free for 7 days to check the quality on your own voice.

Will it run on my computer?

Most likely, yes: no graphics card is needed. On first launch AitJaz checks your PC and shows how fast it will be. You can do this before buying.

Where does my voice go?

By default, nowhere. Dictation audio is processed on your computer and discarded. If you turn on cloud recognition with your own API key (OpenAI, Google Gemini and others) in settings, audio goes to the service you chose. We don't receive your recordings or text unless you choose to send a problem report (“Report a problem…”) with your recent phrases attached, or take the recognition test and agree to send its results. See our Privacy Policy.

Do I need internet?

Only to download the app and speech model (and, for speaker separation, a 27 MB voice model once). After that everything works offline, unless you turn on cloud recognition yourself.

Can it transcribe audio and video files?

Yes. Open “Audio & video to text” in settings, pick a recording and save the text as Word, .txt or .srt subtitles. Tick “Separate speakers” to label who is talking. It works in the same 18 languages as dictation. AitJaz can also record a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet call itself: choose “Meeting” or press Ctrl+Shift+X in any app. More on the Audio & video to text page.

What if it gets a word wrong?

It happens, mostly with rare names and terms. Add them to the Dictionary in settings and AitJaz will spell them correctly.

How do I activate after purchase?

You'll receive a key by email. Click the AitJaz icon in the tray → “Activation” → paste the key.

Is there a Mac version?

The Mac version is in development, and we're looking for testers. Want the app for free? Message us on WhatsApp. You install it and send us screenshots; if something is hard or doesn't work as it should, just describe what happened in plain words. In return you get a free license for Mac and Windows.

Is the app safe?

Yes. Microsoft checked the AitJaz installer and found no threats. The app installs an update only if it carries the AitJaz signature, so it won't install a tampered file. By default, your voice is recognized on your computer.

Can I install AitJaz from the Microsoft Store?

Yes, AitJaz is in the Microsoft Store. Installing it is free, and Windows doesn’t show the blue “Windows protected your PC” screen. It’s the same app: free for 7 days, then you buy a license here on the site and paste the key in the “Activation” window. The Store keeps this version up to date. To turn off its autostart, go to Windows Settings → Apps → Startup.

How do I turn off autostart or uninstall AitJaz?

After setup, AitJaz starts with Windows, so dictation is ready as soon as your PC is on. To turn autostart off: AitJaz icon in the tray → “Settings” → “General” → uncheck “Start with Windows” → “Save”. AitJaz uninstalls like any other app: Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps (Windows 10: Apps & features) → AitJaz → Uninstall (in Windows 11 the button is under “⋯”). This removes autostart too, and the uninstaller asks whether to delete downloaded speech models as well. Your settings and license key stay in the %APPDATA%\Aitjaz folder in case you reinstall; you can delete that folder by hand. This applies to the version from this site. For the Microsoft Store version, turn off autostart in Windows Settings → Apps → Startup; it uninstalls in the same Apps section.

Try it on your own work.

Free for 7 days, with no account and no card. If you like it, pay $20 once and keep it.
